Banana Republic City Sounds | Artists Conversations 163

Jun4

Esperanza Spalding

As an add to their City Stories campaing, Banana Republic interviewed the artists in the City Sounds Compilation. They asked their favourite places and personal style. Here’s the result…

Question 1. What are your 3 favorite music venues to hear music and why?

Ayo
1.Olympia, Paris, France - I was lucky enough to be able to play at the Olympia (13 times by the end of February 09)! It is a mythical place where the greatest artists of all times have performed and it is located in a mythical city. Paris has my heart and Olympia keeps me humble.
2.Sylvia’s, Kohln, Germany - Very cool venue in a city that is omnipresent in my life. I grew up partly around Kohln. It is also a place filled with music and opened to non-traditional type of artists. Big Reggae music scene as well.
3.Hiro, New York, NY - I had a great show there last summer. Great vibe and setting. You get a warm feeling in there and the audience is very close to you while you perform.

Interview - Kameron Corvet 149

Kameron Corvet

A few weeks ago we featured Kameron.

“…The Atlanta-based singer/songwriter that is Kameron Corvet proves that there is always room in rock music for a young man with soulful vocals and compelling lyricism.  Corvet’s mix of light rock and smooth soul combine the sweet sultry vocals of Maxwell, the literate class of Sting, and the undeniable flare of Prince.  Despite the many comparisons make no mistake about his individual uniqueness…”

Now it’s time for the interview.

Her new album will be released November 24, 2009. The title of that album is yet to be known.

The message that revealed this update also shows some other interesting information, like why November was picked for the release “…Sade loves the Holidays…” and fans are assured Sade will continue to avoid trend-hopping  “…We haven’t ever adapted to fit in and even right at the very beginning we didn’t really fit in. We have our own kind of course and that’s the route we go…”
